A group of four people from the SAT-7 TÜRK team is going to the earthquake zone tomorrow, February 16th.
In line with its broadcasting policy and goals, SAT-7 TÜRK will go to the disaster area with a small technical team in order to document the latest status of the Christian cultural heritage there, and to inform all Christians in the country and around the world regarding the physical, mental, and spiritual status of the Christians there. The team will coordinate interviews with churches and Christian citizens as well as aid organizations active in the area and will collect both documentary footage and stories.
Our General Manager, Melih Ekener, who will go to the earthquake region with the team, emphasized the importance of recording and documenting what is happening now, before the debris removal process begins.
The SAT-7 TÜRK news team started very quickly to organize the essentials for filming in the region. Churches and Christian organizations in the area were contacted.
Our technical team is preparing the required equipment right now. We are still investigating possibly damage-free places for accommodation in the area. The city of Adana suffered relatively less damage than the neighbouring cities. If the hotels there are not safe, our team will stay in the car. Therefore we are bringing sleeping bags. We have a very large list of needs and are currently trying to complete preparations quickly in the SAT-7 TÜRK office.
We need your prayers for our team.
